Halloween Scavenger Hunt & Pumpkin Carving Contests

 

Contest Rules & Regulations (the “Rules”)

 

No purchase or payment is necessary in order to participate in the “Scavenger Hunt" or “Pumpkin Carving Contest” (the “Contests”) operated by Haney Place Centre Ltd. (“Haney Place Mall”).

 

HOW TO WIN

The “Scavenger Hunt" prize consists of the following:

  • One (1) gift basket comprised of multiple gift items purchased from or gifted by participating businesses

Total Value: $250.00 plus tax

The winner of the “Scavenger Hunt", a contest in effect from Wednesday, October 26, 2022 to Monday, October 31, 2022, will be chosen as follows:

  • Participants must find (10) locations with official Scavenger Hunt stickers located within Haney Place Mall businesses, and complete the scavenger hunt card information as detailed on the Scavenger Hunt contest card
  • Completed Scavenger Hunt cards must be submitted to the Haney Place Administration & Security Office located at #35-11900 Haney Place, Maple Ridge by placing them through the door’s mail slot
  • One (1) winner will be selected randomly from all eligible entries collected during the above noted event period
  • Contest closes on Monday, October 31, 2022 at 5:00pm PST
  • The winner will be selected and notified on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 by 5:00pm PST
  • Limit one entry per person
  • Persons with multiple entries will be disqualified
  • Prize must be accepted as awarded and may not be exchanged or sold
  • Prize has no cash value
  • The winner must pick up the prize by no later than Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 5:00pm PST or the prize will be considered forfeited, and a new winner will be selected by random draw

Following the draw Haney Place Mall will attempt to contact the winner via email as provided on the Scavenger Hunt card. Please ensure you clearly print your email and check your inbox and junk mail folder regularly.

The “Haney Place Mall Pumpkin Carving Contest" prize consists of the following:

  • First Place: One (1) gift basket comprised of multiple gift items purchased from or gifted by participating businesses

Total Value: $500.00 plus tax

  • Second Place: One (1) gift basket comprised of multiple gift items purchased from or gifted by participating businesses

Total Value: $250.00 plus tax

  • Third Place: One (1) gift basket comprised of multiple gift items purchased from or gifted by participating businesses

Total Value: $150.00 plus tax

The winners of the “Pumpkin Carving Contest”, an event in effect from Saturday, October 29, 2022 to Sunday, October 30, 2022, will be chosen as follows:

  • All entries must be dropped off at the Haney Place Mall Administration & Security Office between 10:00am and 5:00pm PST on Friday, October 29th and must include the following:
    • A carved pumpkin
    • A battery operated light for display purposes
    • Pumpkins and all decorations extending from the pumpkins are not to exceed 24” in diameter and 20” in height
  • All entries will be on public display in the shopping centre at CRU25 at (next to the Walmart interior entrance for public viewing and voting during the above detailed contest period
  • Three (3) winners will be selected from all eligible entries based on public votes collected through an onsite ballot box at the shopping centre during the above noted event period.
  • Contest closes on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at 5:00pm PST.
  • The winner will be selected and notified on Monday, October 31, 2022 by 5:00pm PST
  • Limit one entry per person. Persons with multiple entries will be disqualified.
  • Prize must be accepted as awarded and may not be exchanged or sold. Prize has no cash value.
  • The winner must pick up the prize by no later than Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at 5:00pm PST or the prize will be considered forfeited, and a new winner will be selected by random draw.

The Contests are only open to individuals who are residents of British Columbia. Participants under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present and the parent or guardian must fill out entry form. The Contests are not open to directors, officers or employees of Haney Place Mall, Lorval Developments Ltd., Vitrum Holdings Ltd., or other employees working within other capacities within the shopping centre (including any employees of any and all tenants and/or retailers), their respective affiliates, advertising or promotion agencies, or other representatives or agents, successors or assignees, members of those individual’s respective immediate families, or anyone with whom any of those individuals are domiciled. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.

 

WINNER’S OBLIGATIONS

If Haney Place Centre e-messages or contacts the selected winner and the winners are not reachable by the prize collection deadline, Haney Place Centre will attempt to leave two messages. If the winner does not respond to the messages by 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 a new winner will be selected. The winner must answer a skill-testing question and upon receiving the prize in person at Haney Place Centre, he, she or they must sign: 

  • a declaration or affidavit of compliance with these Rules;
  • a certificate accepting the prize;
  • a release of Haney Place Mall, Lorval Developments Ltd., Vitrum Holdings Ltd. and the shopping centre and their representatives from any and all liability in connection with the Contest;
  • a consent to the announcement of his, her or their name and the use of his, her or their name, city of residence, photograph, likenesses, biographical information, voice and statements by Haney Place Centre Ltd., Lorval Developments Ltd., and Vitrum Holdings Ltd. for advertising and promotional purposes without any expectation of remuneration or compensation;
  • a parental consent form, also signed by parent(s) or legal guardian, if under the age of 19 years
     

If the selected entrant does not comply with these Rules, then at Haney Place Mall’s sole discretion the prize initially awarded to the selected entrant may be forfeited without any liability to the selected entrant or any other person, and another entrant may, at Haney Place Mall’s sole discretion, be selected by random draw in accordance with these Rules.

 

CONSENT TO PERSONAL INFORMATION USE AND DISCLOSURE

By entering the Contests, entrants consent to Haney Place Mall’s collection, use and disclosure of the personal information provided in contest entries for the administration of the Contests and in aggregated form in order to create reports regarding Contests entrant demographics, which reports Haney Place Mall may disclose to others.

 

OTHER RULES

Haney Place Centre Ltd., Lorval Developments Ltd., and Vitrum Holdings Ltd. and its representatives are not responsible or liable, jointly or severally, for any of the following:

  • erroneous, damaged, destroyed, lost, late, incomplete, illegible, incorrectly addressed or misdirected entries, regardless of the cause;
  • failure for any reason whatsoever of selected entrants to receive a prize notification;
  • changes in entrants’ telephone or email after entries are submitted;
  • computer, online, telephone, communication, or technical malfunctions or errors that may occur, regardless of the cause; or
  • damage or loss, including any loss of use, loss of production, loss of profits (anticipated or otherwise), loss of markets, economic loss, special, indirect or consequential loss or damage or punitive damages, whether in contract, tort or under any other theory of law or equity, arising from, connected with, or relating to the Contests, or the submission of entries to the Contests, or participation in the Contests, or the prize, and regardless of the cause or any negligence by any of Haney Place Centre Ltd., Lorval Developments Ltd., and Vitrum Holdings Ltd., or any person or entity for whom any of them are responsible, and notwithstanding that any of those entities or persons may have been advised of the possibility of such loss or damage being incurred. If for any reason Haney Place Mall determines, at its sole discretion, that the Contests are not capable of being conducted as intended by Haney Place Mall for any reason whatsoever, including tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud or any other cause that corrupts or interferes with the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Contests, Haney Place Mall may in its sole discretion disqualify any entrant responsible for such misconduct and withdraw, cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend all or any part of the Contests by publishing a notice on the Haney Place Mall website. Decisions by or selection of Contests winners by representatives of Haney Place Mall as appointed by Haney Place Centre Ltd., Lorval Developments Ltd. or Vitrum Holdings Ltd. regarding any and all aspects of the Contests are final and binding on all entrants.

 

The Contests are subject to all applicable laws and regulations, and are void where prohibited by law. If any provision of these Rules is found by any court of competent jurisdiction to be unenforceable, all other provisions will remain in full force and effect.

The Contests are controlled by Haney Place Centre Ltd., Lorval Developments Ltd. and Vitrum Holdings Ltd. from Langley , British Columbia. The Contests and all related matters are governed solely by the laws of British Columbia, Canada and applicable federal laws of Canada, excluding any rules of private international law or the conflict of laws which would lead to the application of any other laws. Any dispute between Haney Place Centre Ltd., Lorval Developments Ltd. and Vitrum Holdings Ltd. and you or any other person arising from, connected with or relating to the Contests, the submission of entries to the Contests, participation in the Contests, the Contests prizes or any related matters (“Disputes”) must be resolved before the Courts of British Columbia sitting in the City of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and by entering these Contests, hereby irrevocably submit and attorn to the original and exclusive jurisdiction of those courts in respect of all Disputes. Proceedings regarding Disputes must be commenced in a court of competent jurisdiction in the City of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada within six (6) months after the Dispute arises, after which time any and all proceedings regarding the Dispute are barred.

 

The names of the potential Contests winners may be obtained by entrants completing the relevant Scavenger Hunt card or Pumpkin Carving Contest Entry Form c/o Haney Place Centre Ltd, Haney Place Mall, #35-11900 Haney Place, Maple Ridge, British Columbia V2X 8R9 by no later than the Contests deadlines as indicated above.

 

Participation in the Contests constitutes acceptance and agreement to these Rules.
